my gelding seems to be peeing more than usual. hardly ever see him pee but for the last few days he's done it up to twice in an hour or so. it seems normal colour, smell etc and he doesnt seem in any obvious discomfort but we have had a couple of recent very out of charecter moments when ridden and i wonder if he's had/got a water infection or if they are linked in any way???? or is it just its hot and he's been drinking more?

I had this with a pony a few years ago and more recently with my horse (also another on my yard was weeing alot too).

The vet gave me (sold me) a tub of Bladderite (£20) which is a cranberry based powder to flush him out. I gave him one scoop each day for 5 days and he was fine afterwards.

Ring your vet for advice obviously but ask if Bladderite would help.

Hope you get him sorted.

Sound advice from above. But it has been very hot and they do tend to drink alot. My 2 mares have been going through 8 barrels a day at 5 galls per barrel.

thank you. he's living out 24/7 with a auto water trough so not sure. just remember once my firends horse had a very out of charecter turn and it turned out he had a infection
