The luckiest horseshoe is said to be the left hind of a grey mare.
I happen to have a grey mare (what a coincidence) and i have both her back shoes, but which is which?
They've both been worn down on one side which is their only distinguishing feature.
does the horse wear down the outside of its hoof more or the inside of its hoof? because if its inside then the worn down sides will be next to each other and if its outside then the worn down sides will be opposite each other.
I hope this makes sense. It would be useful if I could figure out how to post pictures.
But anyway this is my main question:
Does the horse wear down the outside or the inside of its hoof more?

Depends on the conformation of your horse. Usually, if her toes point in slightly the outside edge of the shoe will wear, if they point out the inside edge will wear. My lad wears the outside of his shoes more and is fairly straight behind, toe in slightly on left.

I would think (and I'm not 100%) that arranging the shoes with the wear on the opposite sides will give you the correct one, you could ring your farrier, he'll know for sure
