I'm looking to buy my first horse after riding for 20 years and having my warmblood on loan for two years (has already gone back to his mummy).

I'm having trouble finding horses in my price range that are suitable so if you would like to help me horse hunt I would be very grateful!!

I would like something;
15.2-16.3hh
7-12 years old
breeding along the lines of IDx, ISH, ISHx, TBx (no full TBs) that sort of build, you get the idea :)
an all rounder
something I can go out and have fun on, do local shows, charity rides, XC, dressage etc etc
Looking in the Kent area
Max price £1,500

5* yard and home awaiting :) :)

mini eggs and vodka oranges for all :D

You might struggle at that price.
If you considered a horse a bit older than you could possibly get one for your money.
You are looking for the horse everyone wants that can attract a 4 k price tag.
However there may be sellers reducing their horses but to find the genuine bargain.
May be needle in haystack.

indeed :( hence my frustration!! lol! thanks tho :)

Everyone wants an all-rounder, but once you've got one you don't part with it!

Bearing in mind your limited budget, perhaps you should be prepared to compromise. Is it absolutely necessary to do dressage for instance? If you find one with a nice temperament, good in traffic, doesn't hot up in company and will pop a little jump, you can do the rest yourself - it's always rewarding to bring on your own horse.

Otherwise, you may have to look at older horses.

I'll now potter off and do a bit of horse googling!

Ahh that really is like searching for a needle in a haystack...as mentioned above if price isnt flexible, it might be that you end up having to look at different ages... I'm currently youngster hunting, but if i could get a fit and healthy allrounder for £1,500 I'd snap it up in a second! :)

Couple of ideas... neither of them exactly what you're asking for but in price range:

http://www.horsemart.co.uk/all_rounder_horse_5_yrs_1_mth_15_3_hh_bay_staffordshire/advert/211255 << younger than you asked and a hundred pound more but there's an ONO so you could ask about bringing it down a little bit.

Will keep having a look, but goodluck with your search! x

I reckon you're going really struggle with that budget for what you want in kent, horses around here are expensive at the best of times espec the breed/type you want imo.
