I am bored :o so I am looking at some horses for sale. Ideally I want something to bring on and event, then sell in the future, hopefully for a wee profit.

What do you think of this lot? p.s I do know some of the seller's through fb.

Obviously the budget isn't huge and I wouldn't mind breaking in and bringing the horse on myself. :)
All your opinions welcome, trying to get down to a 'final 3'.

No 1 is smart but totally different price to the others.
No2 could be worth a look if you can do a fast turnaround, it is 9 so needs to improve fairly quickly, photos dont say much.
No 3, I dont like the way it jumps and on the photos alone would not think of eventing him.
No 4 Is 6 and not in work big ?? for me there.
No5 could be worth looking at, not really done much, another chestnut mare though not always the easiest to sell on.
No 6 unbroken, why if it is so nice and a trade sale but looks ok in the poor photo.
No 7 no prices they may be worth finding out more.

Why dont people put better photos on, most of those are not very good, the first horse is not even shown ridden.

I have just seen that a few are from the same dealer so I suppose its worth going to see a few together.

I as thinking the exact same about the photos, its is really hard to see if they have good limb confo or not becuase the photos are awful.
I do know some of the advertiser's so the less said about people lounging over horses the better! :D
Agree about Horse 3- Very untidy with its front legs.

I too am bored and thought your post looked fun!! So here are my thoughts... I'm just an amateur so please no one take my comments to heart... they are just my personal opinions if I were looking for a project like you are!

Nice looking horse with potential... but a lot of money for a project horse in the current market and I find it odd that it isn't photographed being ridden at all?!

Looks nice and is cheap... but at 9 years old I wonder how much value you'd add - you could work on her flatwork by the sounds of things but you'd have to sell her on quite quick as people start getting put off as they get older.

'Can lack confidence when hacking alone and can be nappy but fine if someone is walking or biking with you' - I read this as a nappy 8 year old so think you'd struggle to sell on! I have a nappy horse and it brings all sorts of issues!

I like this one, looks a nice sort! Young, lots of value to add even just getting her back into regular work. I'd offer less than they are asking though.

Horse 5:

Looks quite weak in the neck suggesting it hasn't been worked correctly to build muscle - I'd be interested to know how long ago the photo was taken. Worth a look in my opinion.

Nice looking little project... not sure I want it backing up on me for a bum scratch though!!!! I like!

Both worth a look - can't say more than that as doesn't say their prices. I think from pics alone I prefer the lighter bay.

So I think I'd look at 4, 6, & 7.

What do you like best so far?

Yes I agree about Horse 6- If a horse backed up to me for a bum scratch I would Not be pleased! Especially as it is past cute foal point, if I bought that, it would have a lot a growing up to do :D

Horse 4 looks interesting- the wording 'shows signs of being able to jump' brings thoughts of jumping out fields to me :D but might be worth a look. I need to know why it is not in work, who broke and when etc.
Horse 7: Price dependent but has some potential.
