Took my horse to the vet last week after she started tossing her head about a week earlier, wouldn't turn right or do a circle to the right and disgusting snot started coming down her right nostril. She was scoped and x rayed. Scope showed where the infection seemed to be coming from and vet thought he saw a possible root abscess way back on one of her back teeth. The x-rays were sent away to a specialist vet school, but have come back saying that they are not concerned that it is an abscess and just to treat with three weeks of antibiotics.
Can anyone tell me would the right rein head tossing issue be due to the infection on her right hand side? Her glands were swollen. Everything was great to the left, but as soon as I took her onto her right rein she turned into the devil horse...I hacked her out yesterday as the vet said that it was ok, but as soon as her blood gets up, the snot starts running and the head tossing issue starts. Is it all related? Thanks
