just being nosey really.
i have used one recently but i was abit disappointed how one of them was mucked out.
i took out 6 barrows of muck(i usually take out one a day) on my return-there was a nice layer of fresh bed with some poo in it and then loads of poo in layers underneath.
would you say anything?

yes, i'd say something, as they are usually very expensive. You don't expect that when you get home, eww. Is there any chance s/he misunderstood and thought they were supposed to deep-litter the stable?
i have used one from Animal Aunts, who kept the place more immaculate than i do (!), and i have used Jackie from TwoMindsHorsitting three times now, and she has been totally brilliant, coped perfectly with everything. Would recommend to anyone, btw.

I've used two before - the first ones were ok but it was abt a month after I got my mare and she was still v nervous and I think she might have scared the poor lady. The second lot were great (did my dog and cats too) tho they charged a lot for it!!! I just abuse my parents and YO now

Just out of interest for those that have used horse sitters - how expensive have you found them to be? Do they charge per horse or per hour?

amandaco2 I'm just down the road from you (north derbyshire) - how did you find them (word of mouth or on net etc) and how much did they charge? I must admit I am inclined to think you get what you pay for so if it was expensive I would definately say something.

As long as you were clear about your requirements I'd say something, mainly because it would p1ss me off paying for something to be done and then having to do it again myself anyway.
Usually better to say something at the time (I'd want a reduction

) but as long as it wasn't too far after the event you should still say something. Anyone doing such a job should welcome and appreciate feedback, both positive and negative. They're never going to learn otherwise.

word of mouth
they werent expensive i dont thinkive always asked friends or family to do it before though.
charge was per hour and it was only 45mins once a day.the bill is £180 for one week

Bleedin heck I'm in the wrong line of work - even an hour a day for 7 days would be over £20 an hour at that rate.

Mmmmm perhaps I should think about a change in career.
