just wanted to vent really - I lost out on the seemingly first perfect horse I have been to see (have seen loads) - was due to go and ride her again this morning, but a got a phone call saying she had been sold. I didn't want to make any rash decisions and always think it is wise to ride them at least twice, but I couldn't get back there fast enough it would seem. *sigh*

I am a bit gutted

I am rapidly running out of enthusiasm for this horse shopping lark!

anyone want to join me in an afternoon Pimms?

sorry to hear that, but I think if a horse is a really good buy then you have to be quick. Two of the horses I bought had been in H&H on the thursday, one I bought the next day and the other horse I bought on the saturday. They were good horses at very good prices. One I had for three years and sold for three times what I paid and the other I still have. If a horse is for sale for a while, there is usually a reason.

What a good idea Pimms it is!
I wouldn't get too discouraged it has taken me ages to find my new horse. Saw loads of horses and been looking for months. However when I found her I knew, went to see her on Friday and offer accepted saturday. (It's taken a while to get the vetting sorted and I'm on holiday next week) So will finally be getting her at the begining of August!
I adopted a very c'est la vie attitude in the later stages of horse hunting, time and several lets downs / failed vettings does that to you! You will find a horse that is right for you. In the meantime here to Pimms!

If you are really keen why don't you ask for first refusal should the proposed purchaser backs out. Sometimes people say yes because they are told other people are interested and then go home and think about it and change their minds.

I hope you find a horse very soon, I was lucky enough to buy the first horse I saw, thats him in my siggy, and he is wonderful.

I'd say that it wasnt meant to be.

If if was the right horse for you then it would still have been there when you went back this morning.

I have just purchased a 4 year old after a long time looking and he wasnt even advertised, I found him through a friend of the owner when I rang up about another horse. He sort of fell into my lap instead of my searching for him.

That happened to me except we'd said we'd buy and i had bought a load of equipment for it, and the next person came along and bought. I totally know the feeling, its just so annoying
