Horse sort of has squits

Mare has had very liquid poo on her legs and bottom area on and off for about a week buut her actual droppings are not loose.

It is almost just that when she farts liquid comes out

Other than that she is pooing and eating normally and has no temperature.

I changed her feed (gradually) about three weeks ago and our haylage is a bit inconsistent but seems like this is a long time for a reaction. Some days she has it, others she doesn't.

Any thoughts? If it goes on I will talk to my vet, of course.

Could be the first spring grass coming through, could be the inconsistent haylage, or could be her first season of the year (often gives them a bit of the runs).
Try giving pro-biotics, feeding psyllium husk can help soothe a gut, and cut down hard feed if you can.

Thanks S - Not her season as she's on Regumate. Could well be the grass. (not that we have much). My first thought was the haylage.

Will pop her some pink powder. She only gets one feed a day atm (and thinks she's starving) so I don't want to cut it down - plus she's worked 6 days a week.

Mmmm Thumper has been like this a little recently. I put it down to rain. It's been dry for so long here.

i think its the new grass coming through just gets the gut juices flowing a bit more.

I had this once with one and my vet gave me co -codamol about 5 tabs twice a day in feed, and it helps bind up the poo etc, but this of course isnt giving you the reason for it but just to manage it.
