Thank you perdy, I am local to burford, so whatever happened whether horses got out or were taken out, regardless its useful to know. Sorry you have been jumped on by some of the other forum members.

I understand their frustrations but some people wont have had time to read everything and get up to speed on totally all of it as maybe weezy and co have.....

Poster is obviously trying to help, so please dont bully people, its not nice. Yes maybe its not 100% accurate but christ leave the OP alone!

Weezy, can I join you in the 'bangs head against brick wall clique' please?

What I want to know is, why is security so lax that suddenly everyone needs to increase it? Surely, if you cared about your horse, you would be implementing the highest security levels at all times?

I am not bullying anyone, but trying to nip rumour, scaremongering and tales in the bud. These are NOT helpful to anyone. 100% of the horses I have heard that have been stolen in the last fortnight or more have been dismissed as untrue.

I feel incredibly sorry for all at Sturts for what happened to their horses, it was a horrible thing to have happened and it is VERY close to home for me seeing that I live 5 mins from where it happened. HOWEVER, when the Police have told me that the case has been registered as a RTA and nothing more than that then I do think it is important for people to know that.

People are losing sleep over these rumours, and I feel that we DO have a duty to dispel myths as soon as humanly possible so that people can relax and realise this this UK wide *problem* is nothing but a text ring that got out of hand.

The one horse that WAS reported stolen in the last fortnight, from Maisemore, has been found dead in a ditch

So again, not an incident of foul play but a tragic accident.

If this makes people check and double check their fencing and security then that is brilliant, but scaring the bejesus out of other is not on. This morning I have yet again had to stop rumours in their tracks and it is getting irksome. Only facts help people, not hearsay.
