A long shot but does anyone know of an alternative supplier for these? Had them recommended as fantastic for a ligament injury on front leg (horse is out in a small corner of field area 24/7 so bandaging costing a fortune in vetrap as its the only think i know will stay on. These are washable and meant to remove pressure points). However the company dont answer the phone or email so i assume they have closed down.

i just use human ones they come in all shapes and sizes worked for my mare when she had tendon injury also worked well on hock when she capped it kicking stable wall i get the elbow ones in large for that worked a treat when used straight away no fluid left in point of hock .

thanks calon. How do you know which size/how tight?!! Need for front tendons on 16h horse with TB type legs. I assume you dont need anything under them?

as thistle said just measure and compare with say your arm or leg and then try and find nearest match it explains how tight on intructions need to fit snug or will fall down if they are alittle slack u could put gammgee under but dont have to find a good stockest with plenty of choice of support items try and find a firm one with plenty of stretch .

thanks everyone, Will go and try to find some tomorrow once i can measure her leg. Only concern is that something that supports the tendon on a front leg is going to be quite tight a fit to get over the hoof?

i use human ones size C for xc under boots.
however, i have a much thicker blue horse pair that i bought years ago and have never used, they would be very firm and supportive, would be happy to sell them to you. you'd have to put a strong plastic bag over the hoof to be able to slide them on. they're about 9" long, so the length of the leg from below knee to below fetlock, more or less.
pm me if you like, otherwise size C is about right, or the one below it. make sure you get long enough, some packs have them pre-cut but you need the longer ones so you can do it double thickness for decent support.

thanks kerrilli - i will pm you

I have just put size C ones on (from Boots). It was a bit of a struggle and i couldnt go any smaller, but i am worried they arent nearly as supportive as bandages??? There is so much more stretch in them? Can anyone advise? Also they have started slipping down (going back in a few hours to see)

The bad news is that the other front leg is now puffy and she is touchy about it so i think she has now done something to that one (not uncommon i know as insurance co whacked an exclusion on it last week just in case, when i told them about the first leg!) So feeling very down :-(

Good grief which insurance compay are you with? They can't do that! unless you claimed on that leg before and they forgot to exclude it then, they have to wait until the end of your policy at least surely and then never known a company do that, unless it is that Co no one will go with anymore ! !
