A horse has been stolen from a field at Marshmoor Stables, Marshmoor Lane, Welham Green, Hatfield Hertfordshire overnight Monday/Tuesday.

Annie is a 14h black and white mare about 22 years old. She was rugged and tethered to another horse. The rug has been removed and left and only Annie was stolen.

A couple of weeks ago a young man of around 26 years with dark hair was asking at Bulls Lane stable if they had a black and white mare for sale which they did not.

Please may we remind everyone to ring the police immediately if they see or hear anything suspicious.

Thank you

Can't help with any details I'm afraid, but why was she tethered to another horse? Or should that be tethered next to another horse. Strikes me as a strange way to keep a horse overnight, unless the horse belonged to travellers, in which case there may be a dispute over ownership? Sorry if I've intrepreted that wrong.

I am just replying to clear up any misconceptions about annie. There has been some kind of misinterpretation annie was not tethered to anything or any other horse. she was in a field with another horse and there is no dispute about ownership. She does not belong to travellers i have owned her all her life. i can understand how you may have interpreted how you have because of how ther report was written. If i would of read it i would of has concers if i thought two horses were tetherd together overnight. im so so desperate to have her back. She is black and white very young looking 22 yrs 14.1hh and has a freeze mark on her left shoulder 5ba8 last seen marshmoor lane welham green hatfield hertfordshire at midnight. if anyone could help or has any information please call :07960677388 / 07842567678 any help greatly apreaciated many thanks diane

Is there any updated news on this.

I really feel for you as it is my worst nightmare.

Really upsetting, especially as you had her freezemarked, so had taken precautions.

Please let us know.
