Brilliant rescue!, will try to email Coventry Fire Service to send them positive comments, people don't take time to show appreciation when it's so easy to send a message of thanks. The Fire Fighters really cared about this pony by the sounds of it, Elvis is a very lucky boy

So gad he's been rescued safely. It must have been very frightening for him.

This brought back a memory from 30 years ago. I was riding my first horse through a wood and he slipped, falling into a swamp just like this. Within seconds, he was as deep in as this horse. I managed to get the saddle off and send a companion for help (days before mobile phones). Fortunately, he didn't struggle and a local YO arrived with ropes and a pick up truck. Fortunately, we were able to get him out too with the truck pulling on the ropes. I had to walk him five miles to get home, covered in grey slime. It was the scariest thing that ever happened to me whilst riding and this story brought it all flooding back.
