horse stuff that i want to give away

does anyone know if i can post things like gloves etc on the tack room if i am giving them away. i have had to give up horses and have quite a few odd bits and pieces that are not good enough (IMO) to sell and i wouldnt want the hassle of people complaining that they were not in pristine condition. they are too good the throw away so it would be nice if someone could make use of them..

i have some things that i will want to sell and i will put them on the regional board but as there is more traffic on here i thought i would get to more people interested in my other stuff..

When I gave up I posted on here, as it's allowed in the regional boards if you're selling.

If there's no takers on here, try fb selling sites as I got rid of all my horse stuff bar the sentimental items I chose to keep on Ebay and a mix of fb market place and a local horse kit selling site. I was struggling with the last group of items but someone purchased them as a job lot.

If you can't on here, and want to give away for free I'm sure a local charity would snap them up to sell at a fundraiser even, its what I'd have done if there were items I couldn't shift.

Sorry you are having to give up horses. I hope you find a nice home for your stuff.
I think as long as you are not selling stuff you can advertise it, or that is what I was led to believe anyway.

Thanks, it’s really difficult and I just need to get rid of everything as it’s hard seeing it and knowing I can’t use it. I have found a hho er for my mountain horse boots and I hope she loves them like I do, I gave them a last clean yesterday and it’s like giving away an old friend… quite sad

If you wanted to you could put it all in a box and post to one of the larger horse charities. Bransby has a second hand shop that they use to raise funds and they always welcome donations of stuff. Even if it's not perfect it might raise a few £'s for a charity.

i gave a load the WHW when i lost my mare and they didnt seem that keen when i phoned they suggested i sold the rugs (which were all professionally cleaned) and give them the money. i was too upset to mess about selling them so i drove over and gave them all the stuff i wanted gone..

I drove over to Bransby with a car load of stuff when my 2 old ponies died and they were very grateful.

I gave loads of stuff to a big, local horse rescue place and they use what they need and sell the rest.

I gave mine to a local tack shop which sells second hand and asked them to send whatever it fetches to charity. They chose the Christie's new cancer care unit being built in our town.
