Looking for some advice!
My mare has suddenly become girthy, Sunday no problem at all girth done up normally no issues, vet out Monday for vaccinations (flu+tet), Tuesday girthy!!! She is pinning her ears and going to bite.
But once on and walking around girth goes up fine not a problem, tested it this morning when I got off I did the girth up another hole and she was normal not girthy at all.
If she had done this on Sunday I would've mentioned to the vet when she was out for vacs but she was fine until the day after!
The only change in her routine is she has started to go back out into the field after winter, there really isn't much grass out there and I never ride her after she has been in the field only first thing in the AM.
She gets ad lib hay, scoop of chaff 30mins before exercise.
She is a 6yo ISH.
Vet will be back out in April for EHV booster so will mention then if she is still doing it.
Any ideas what it may be? She gets fed a gut supplement although it didn't agree with my gelding brought him out in hives so possibly not agreeing with her either? Have stopped feeding it from today to see....

She had it in her neck although the first time she got it she took a reaction so she’s had dannilon before every vaccination since but this time vet wanted to see what she would be like without so i wonder if it could be that?

I would contact the vets and ask. If that’s the only thing that has changed it seems likely that it is a cause. My mare was lame after hers and couldn’t bring her front leg forward.

My horse was unwilling to turn his neck side to side at all the day after his flu jab this year. It took 3/4 days for him to be back to where he was before. There's no swelling and he is eating off the ground OK. I don't know if this is normal for him as I wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't been specifically asking for a stretch.

Thanks everyone, she was in season a couple weeks ago but I thought she seemed out of it by now.
I will see how she is in the next couple days, so strange it's just after her jag. Apart from being girthy she is her normal self even when ridden so hopefully nothing bothering her too much.
