morning, got my horse out the stable this am, obviousily lame , heat at back of tendon, no heat in foot , holding up ig you touch leg? thiinking abcess ? further up leg? or knocked in stable last night any ideas, xx

If there's heat in the tendon then it's unlikely to be an absess? If he was fine when you put him to bed last night then he's possible injured himself in the stable. I would certainly cold hose the leg at the moment & see how it is throughout the day as this won't do any harm.

For him to be lifting it as soon as you touch it then I expect he's had a knock. If you have any doubts or it continues & there is no improvement with the cold hosing call the vet.

Could be anything. Your vet will be able to tell you though

But if there's heat at the back of the tendon cold hose on the assumption that that is what the problem is. Your vet will then be able to give you a proper diagnosis later today when you see him.
