Over the past couple of days I have noticed that my gelding has become very grumpy. He has started pinning his ears back and threatening to bite and kick when I am putting his saddle on and especially when I groom him (I can groom his head and neck fine but anywhere past his shoulder and he tries to go for me). He has also started to become naughty when being bought in from the field, being a bit bolshy, and on the way to the field in the morning he doesnt walk right, and comes up a bit stiff and lame. I was thinking that this change in behaviour may be pain related as he use to be so well behaved and use to love being groomed up till recently. Also, we have been having a few issues with him and intermittent lameness behind, and he has had injections for his kissing spine about 3 months ago - could these of worn off and his back be hurting again???
Hes up the vets Friday for a lameness investigation so I will mention it to them anyway, just wanted to see opinions on why he has suddleny changed his behaviour?
