Hi All,

Took lots of ideas on board and last night she was rugless, rugs over the partitioning bars, hay and extra oat straw double netted and this morning she was fine. Keeping fingers crossed for tonight!

Thanks again.

That's good to hear. Sometimes small changes can do wonders and every horse is different. Mine can get too hot even if clipped if I over-rug him. He doesn't sweat but will stand there twitching and generally looking irritated if too warm. My sister's horse on the other hand doesn't seem to care and his coat isn't much different so you'd think he'd feel as warm!

Excellent news.
A more permanent solution to rugs over the bars that I have used is a large piece of Stirling board (about £20) drill some small holes in it and fix to bars with cable tidy's. cheap and gives the horse the privacy some need from their immediate neighbour.
Also easy to remove quickly leaving no damage so would probably be ok with your yard owner.
