Wasn't sure if this should go in here or in picture section??

Just wondered if anyone had any horsey tattoos that they wouldn't mind sharing photos of.

I'd quite like one... have been toying with the idea for a while now. But I can't find any I like enough... just wondered if anyone on here had any...?

Don't do it, by the time you get to my age they look awful, friend of mine had a bird tattoo done about 30 years ago, looks horrid now the colours are dull and merging (and no doubt worse when the skin starts sagging/wrinkling when she gets older still).

Treat yourself to some nice horse jewellery instead
=tags&includes[]=title#]pendant
=tags&includes[]=title]stirrup pendant =tags&includes[]=title]another pendant- this lady does some lovely stuff, could probably paint yours to order =tags&includes[]=title]interesting horse shoe nail pendant

I always find the "it'll-look-rubbish-when-you're-old" argument to be completely irrelevant. When you are that old that your skin has started sagging and bagging, no one will be looking at you on the beach anyway, and I doubt you'll still be wearing a bikini, so who cares anyway?

Still, I don't understand tattoos, or why anyone would want one. I have three friends who have had their horses tattooed on to their skin, and every single one of them looks terrible; the art work is awful, a dreadful depiction of what could be a horse, but who knows....? The tattoos that have been shown on this thread are, in my opinion, not great either, but each to their own.

I think it may be better to get a nice painting done of your horse, instead of having it permanently etched in to your skin. If the tattoo person is not brilliant, you are left with a constant reminder of someone else's mistake......

ridingbuck1 - I love your tat...that is exactely what I want done from a pic of my boy esp as he's no longer here...but wasn't sure where to have it...i have one on the small of my back already....I want one where it's still going to look feminine and not too in your face....suggestions would be welcome...

even though I would have to experience the pain again...and hopefully not pass out and throw up this time...i wasted my burger king last time...LOL

Tis true, they look crap as you get older...I had mine when I was 15, naughty I know, never having kids bla blah blah...now im 24 have had a baby and now have stretch marks, running right through it

lovely....good job my OH loves me!!!

Oh and it only small and looks crap!

Have a portrait done instead.

I havent got a photo but have a horse shoe on my thigh with my pony's name under it.
The only time anyone sees it is when i'm swimming or on beach.

My kids used to think it was where i'd been kicked.

Having it on my thigh, i don't see it very often and forget about it, but its personal to me.

So who cares how they look when you're older, everything goes south anyway

Please forgive the swollen foot but it had only been done 2 days before. Couldn't get my boots on for a week!

Whatever. OP didn't ask for opinons on tattoos, but for pictures of them, so if you don't like them, don't bother commenting. You get what you pay for - get a good tattooist to do it and it will look good for years. FWIW if, when I get old, someone still wants to see me naked, the tats will be the least of my worries
wink.gif
And I am never having kids so stretchmarks are not going to be an issue, either.

OP - Your best bet is to book a session with a good artist and get something unique drawn up. Word of mouth is the best ay to find one, or post on here and someone will come up wwith somewhere.

So you have raised the question.......

I want one that is pretty, includes the flower daisy and a horse.

I thought maybe a horse shoe wrapped in Daisys...

The winner gets a hot choccie

Let's not get into the having kids argument, I've had several of them on here
wink.gif
I seriously dislike children, babies in particular, and the thought of being pregnant/giving birth makes me feel ill

I am never having kids, end of. Happily, I am on the pill, have a large supply of condoms and have PCOS so the chances of me catching are very slim indeed

It's great to hear from someone who carries their stretch marks proudly, so you should
smile.gif
I wouldn't have one there anyway, tbh; I really don't need attention drawn to that area, lol!

No tattoos myself, but I've always wondered...do they hurt?

I have some scars that remind me of various horses though, teeth marks on an arm courtesy of a horse called Zippy when I was 14 for instance.

Sorry but I think any one who has tattoos must be bonkers.

And I think you are bonkers.

I have no basis for this view, I am just prejudiced, narrow minded and give my opinions where they are not asked for.

LOL - when I opened this thread I thought it was going to be about tattoos for horses - as opposed to freezemarking!

PMSL!

I think you can get markings done on the inner lip. Not 100% sure but I have seen them. No idea how it works, though.

lol, that's one horse you'll never forget!

They do hurt, a bit like a heat pain, but it varies depending on the area. For me, the top of the shoulders was fine, barely noticable, but the lower down bits of the phoenix did sting a bit and make my eyes water! Not enough that it's put me off planning a third one, though. Like they say about having kids, you forget the pain and want another (though as already discussed, never gonna happen

).

I have got one on the top of my wrist. It didn't hurt as much as i thought but at the same time it wasn't the most pleasant experience i've had in life! It felt like a hot scratch but your body shuts off from it after a while then it just becomes annoying.

Everyone has different pain threshholds though! lol

i fall asleep when tats lol last on is on inside of my arm and it hurt on nerve for few secs but my brain stops it lol i never said i was normal i am more than sligtly mad lol
