Horse that has a extreme reaction to a spoke anxiety or bad manners?

What about ulcers did you discuss having him scoped? Good news on the other checks but I guess doesn't move you any further forward- saddle check next perhaps?

He said he doesn't think it's that either I got his saddle checked just before Christmas so I'm at a lose good new is there is nothing physically wrong with him , one of the trainers suggested ear plugs and sponges on the check pieces as blinkers so gonna try that

He gets turned out in the morning ATM as our ground is terrible but because of this every few months he gets turned out and stays out for a month or two at time where I live there isn't a lot of of ground people let you use in the winter so I don't really have a choice on this unless I travel for hours every day , I've been trying the desensitising with him and he reacts a lot differently when I'm on the ground to when I'm riding in the same situations

I had an extremely spooky chestnut tb mare, her party trick was to whip round, buck and try to leg it! She was very sharp. She did grow out of it somewhat but magic calmer helped, no hard feed, I could tell when she'd had it even if only a little. She had to be ridden pretty much daily, as a six yo she was pretty sensible unless she had she had a few days off in a row.

It might be because he is not out much then and is a ball of energy! I know you can't help that, everyone has trouble with ground at the mo, but at least he might improve with more exercise and turnout etc if that were the problem.

You say he is much better with you on the ground, have you tried taking him out in hand on hacks? How is he when with another horse? Or could you get anyone to walk with you on the ground even just round the school to start.

Lots of people do bombproofing like walking over tarpaulin and things in the school, normally I wouldnt think that very useful but maybe in your case it would be worth a go to make him feel like he can deal with things that are a bit scary! I find walking out in hand really good for my own confidence in my horse and helps me understand her reactions, but I had a horse before who was a bit of a bouncing liability in hand so much better to be on board with him :-)

He gets fed cool mix half a scoop twice a day but he has been fed this for over two years and I could hack ride in the field paddock anywhere and within this last year he has started doing this, I was thinking about taking the fed of him completely has he doesn't really get that much anyway I just don't no what to do with him
Take him off all feed except ad-lib hay. If he stays the same after a week or so, you know it isn't that but I think you might well be surprised. Horses, indeeed all animals, can react oddly to just about anything.
