It has been reported that horse thieves are about in Northampton, a couple of men were seen with a camera at the top of our yard in the early morning, when approached by a livery (member of police force), they got into a van and left, there has also been a couple of other reported incidents, please be vigilant if you live in the area.

Which part of Northamptonshire was this? And did anyone get part of the registration number, what colour is the van etc? We are in Northants and will keep an eye out.

Thanks Boe, will let everyone know that I can. We are near West Haddon so not a million miles away from there. Friends of mine are even closer and will be grateful for this information.

Im in lilbourne/ rugby I had someone try and steal my tb's in the early hours few months back but lucky the milk man scared them off :) bless him had to catch one of them as he was on the road ok now, fence and gate are well and truly shut (welded) lol x

Just to remind you the importance of Freezemarking your horses on their shoulders as this ensures that your horse can be identified by anyone in the event of them being stolen or straying.
Postcode all tack as well and put your postcode in large lettering on the roofs of trailers and horse boxes.

I will mention to friends about this, we keep our horses in blisworth. It was just over a year ago that we had all our tack and rugs stolen, and were indications that they might of tried to load some of the horses but chose the ones that won't load!

not really related to the post in question as such but the "member of the policeforce" on your yard, is she nicky? i used to ride with her mum a lot, and we were 'liveried' at the same places for years until i moved away. if so, please say hello from jokadoka and a carrot for murf from old lou!!!!

p.s hope the yard hasn't had any more bother!
