Just been reading about all the recent horse thefts and the plaits in manes..........
What type of horses are they targeting? i noticed it seems to be coloureds, cobs and shettys?

Yes, I have two very desirable horses - hence they are freezemark, microchipped and I will pay a very large sum to the local community to find them and make sure those who did it won't walk for a very long time.

Coloureds, cobs, mares shetlands and donkeys are sort after by certain folks. Plus anything good for fast driving.

I'm not too worried..........

30 year old tb that doesn't load and one-eyed pony.

I have a really unusual lovely marked skewbald coblet whos only 18months old - am worried about her, shes been microchipped - will look into having her freezmarked though.

Thats a point - dont think she would load either and the TB dosent want to come in at the best of times and the 2 ponies are hard to catch anyway.

Please do - I had Stinky done at 18 months and Farra as soon as I could after I got her - only thing that is a real put off to certain types is the freezemark.

Chipping is great and the combination of the two is best. I really can't understand people who say it is too expensive or looks horrible - rather have my horse with a mark and with me than gone and never knowing where they ended up.

How often do you hear of horses going with freezemarks compared with those who don't have them - answer is rarely.

Is that him in the pic below?
He has alot of white like my coloured - where abouts is he freezemarked? is it on a dark patch?

picolenicole he is lovely. i too have a coloured and am constantly terrified - i had him freezemarked on his dark patch on his neck so that when im riding him its not covered by anything and anyone can see straightaway the obvious freezemark.

Our coloured horse is freezemarked in a prominent place. Worries me to death still though that he might get taken before they realise that. I've got his freezemark number in big letters on one side of his rugs and our postcode on the other side.
