Hi

Have stopped schooling Murphy since our last outing 2 weeks ago as he was getting me upset when he then started to go to back of stable when i apporached with the saddle!!! Last thing I want is for poor ponio to hate being ridden, so got back checked, teeth all done as one outing he bucked in canter most of the time - I think it was because it was a very cold wet windy day and I took of his numnah because we were showing and I think it was just naughtiness, but to be safe got everything all checked out as not normal for him to do quite so many!!!!!!!
So saddler came out last week and she thinks my Wintec Isabel Werth is a little too long on the back (17.5 inch) for him but workable if we drop down the front and relieve any pressure on the back panels. My wintec GP is fine just needs a wider plate - its a 16".
Anyway will get rid of the Isabell (NOOOOO) and get something smaller as it should fit him first and foremost.

So Isabel Werth Wintec 17.5 with CAIR - brown for sale!!!!! or swap somthing 16-16.5 inch!!!!

Anyho we have just been hacking to try and get him enjoying his time being riden - hope to get out to beach and xc jumping (his first time) soon.
has anyone also been through a period of time off schooling and how long did you give them ? He is not the easist of temrements in that he tries to be dominant and idctate the speed and direction etc we do things in the school - he does not really enjoy schooling we work on trying to keep his motivation up bt plenty of praise and rewards treats and time getting a breath as these are all his motivational things.

Feeling really crap as Ive made him this way - he has only being doing scholing through the winter 3 days week - sometimes in hand work. With weekends hacking and other days off.

sorry self indulgent

I have quite a backwards thinking horse that if schooled too much will think of many evasions and generally be a ***. I mainly school in the arena only once a week and try to school more out on hacks - do a bit of leg yielding or shoulder ins down a country lane or lots of transition changes in the field etc. If I am in the arena I try to vary it with poles, raised trotting poles, lots of transitions and circles. Other days I simply lunge or long rein in the arena.

I'd say to keep it all very varied, put some jumps up etc. Plus you can school whilst hacking and I find mine schools better out hacking than in the arena.

Hiya, I know someone who is desperately looking for an Isabel Werth dressage saddle. Could you PM details? price, location etc?
Thanks

hi - we are having problems with a pony being behind the leg when schooling (is always very forward otherwise)

We also have a Wintec Isabel dressage saddle, with Flair.

Noticed two small rubs, each side of spine the other day, when we had been schooling daily for a few days. Even though we wear a padded numnah underneath, I can only think it is the saddle causing the problem, and may be causing him to think backwards. We only do schooling in the Isabel.

Saddle fitter coming this week. We love the Isabel to ride in, but it may be for sale after this!!!!!!!!!
