Hi all :)

My new mare is pretty much stabled 24/7 at the minute due to the weather and giving the fields a rest.

She gets to stretch her legs in the arena and when I ride her but thats about it.

Im wanting to make her some home made toys but would like some ideas please, what if any do you all use??

She has a likit in there which she is bord of now and finds it more fun trying to chew the plastic..

Thanking you :)

This kept my pony occupied for hours. It's simply a piece of rope tied to the roofwith lots of bits of fruit and veg that I've cored and threaded on, then tied a knot at the bottom. Got the idea from the kids section of one of my BHS magazines.

Yeah I have used the veggies on the rope years ago :)

The ceiling in my stable now is pretty high so im thinking I might struggle with this...

Meeko, us north-easterners call swedes turnips! Turnips are actually something different, but the orangey thing with purpley skin that we call turnips are technically swede :D

If the roof is too high a swede just on the floor as a 'treat ball' works well - some of mine have found these too hard to bite into so a cabage does just as well.

Used to do this (with a swede) before I came across the veg on a rope idea, also worked pretty well!
