Horse trailers? The good and the ones to avoid

Im in the process of looking for a trailer having sold our lorry last year & its a blooming minefield!!
I only really want an Ifor but torn between a 505 which all Ive been to see have movement in the panels or a 506 which Im told are more flimsy & more desireable to be stolen!!
So Im going round in circles.
We do have a trailer renovating company nearby so am holding off to see what comes up with them as maybe that will give me something in between!!
The moving panels in the 505s would be because they're rotten and need to be replaced.
I am lucky to have a superb dealer near me who had just bought a 505 to refurbish. It's got all new panels , ramps, roof , breaks , wheels , pretty much everything apart from the chassis. And with VAT it came to under £5000. It's basically a brand new trailer.
If you're able to find a deal like that , I'd definitely recommend.

Yes & everyone Ive seen has moving panels - yes thats what Im thinking of doing too albeit the price of 506 only 2 years old are around £6500.00 now & dropping too!

Love my Bateson - so practical, light and gives horses a good ride.
Reflects sun well which is a huge selling point for summer travel.
Composite plastic floor (although not infallible is certainly a plus).
My mechanic says Bateson are great customer service for parts etc.

Downsides - They do get a bit green and slimy, so a power wash now and again. Also jockey door catch I’m not enamoured with so I had external bolts fitted too

I too love my Equitrek.
Had a show trekka from new for 14yrs, now have a night trekka.

Serviced yearly by someone who knows what they are doing. Its the servicing that makes all the difference.

Not sure if you've found something or not but Cheval Liberte have just launched their bigger version of the Tourer, it takes 2 x 17.2. We have the smaller version and absolutely love it!!! Have a look they are amazing to tow and the tack locker is a god send! CL trailers have fantastic reviews on here and online and are less rattly and a smoother ride than the ifors https://fb.watch/mFkppeMW7H/
