Has anybody any idea on how much it cost to have a horse transported from Lincs to Oxon. Its showing a distance of 131 miles. Any recommendations?

You'll pay anything from £1.50 - £2.50 per mile.

When I had my horse collected from Reading and brought to Suffolk 2 years ago, it cost £340 - the distance was 165 miles, so approx £1.00 per mile for the round trip. The price has probably gone up a bit now that diesel is so expensive. Make sure you use a fully licensed and insured transporter.

Try looking at Affordable Horse Transport on www.affordablehorsetransport.co.uk they have a database of hauliers and lorries going up and down the country and can find the best deal for you. They only use licensed and approved transporters so everything will be legal. Check out the website.

That sounds about right. I paid £1 a mile fourteen years ago which was the going rate then
