Has anyone had their horse transported by air before?

My mare is flying from the USA - UK in May and I am getting nervous. I am paranoid she is going to play up.

I am keen to hear from anyone who has been through this.

we usd to fly them all the time its not normally a problem tbh.
My mare is normally a bit noisy in a box but was perfect on a plane.

We have had to use air travel & yes they do travel well, however I would insist on someone experienced travelling with the horse. Sometimes they almost sit down on take off. Also it is a good idea to tape the hoofs with Duck tape before loading as this gives better grip on slippery surface.

i know someone who has just took 2 horses to compete in america it has cost her 10k each. they had to go by ferry from england to amsterdam, then picked up a plane to america

Hi, sorry to be nosey, but I am looking into flying my mare to America in the summer, and I was wondering what companies you have had quotes from? All the quotes I have had have been for 15k+!!! Thanks for your help!

I am moving her from Dallas, Texas to the UK and am paying $7,500 (approx 4,000 GBP) with IRT. I have a quote from IRT UK to take her from Stanstead to Swansea and that is WAY TOO much at 700 GPB...... I am looking into alternatives.

I have been very happy with IRT and their communication.

Ive used Nedpoint Quarter Horses (S Oklahoma) for the quarantine, and they've dealt with all the paperwork etc. and arrange for John Parker to collect them from Schipol and deliver to you. Cost has been between £3000 - £3500 (door to door) depending on the exchange rate at the time.

Horses tend to fly better than they lorry/trailer. PF travelled perfectly from Paris to Argentina

I think it was arranged by Nedpoint, though I'm sure John Parker does make the arrangements when neccesary.
Also, have used John Parker to transport horses around the UK, and he's always been very reasonable and helpful. Would certainly be worth giving him a call.
