Hello
I’m hopefully buying a horse in Ireland soon. Can anyone recommend a transporter to bring my horse back to England. I know there are plenty of companies out there , looking for one reasonably priced and caring. Thanks

There are loads - just Google "horse transporters Ireland". I have used several companies over the years, pm me if you'd like recommendations (especially of who NOT to ue...).

Hi Franco, I send horses to the UK a lot and think you can’t go wrong with George Mullins. A lot of the companies have delays, they may tell you it’s the weather but often they are putting a load together. That can mean that your horse is taken from the seller and sometimes kept for a few days at their yard. Far better that the horse is taken and immediately shipped, to cut down the stress for him. Because Mullins is so big he has lorries going nearly every day so can get the horse out fast.

Also they will take perfect care of him IME. It’s about £400 to central England and the price increases then depending how far away from there you are. You will find plenty of companies who do it cheaper but beware of the smaller ones - you get what you pay for.

I used George Mullins last month and was very impressed with the service. Horses arrived less than 48 hours after purchase, all fit and well.

Another vote for George.

Like Cortez, I can give you a list of people NOT to use. It's really not worth going for a cheap option either - for the sake of a few extra quid, and using a recommended transporter, you will be far better off.

There was another thread on here a week or so ago, however, and someone recommended one of the bigger transporters who I would never use.

We've used George Mullins or Wexford Horse Transport. Can't fault either of them. I've used several others in the past - including some of the big names that bring over from Goresbridge and have had less than satisfactory experiences with them.
