Hiya!

Trying to organise a short break from our stables Friday to Sunday this year either late spring, summer or early autumn. Will be taking the horses & staying 2 nights.

The accomodation for both us & the horses I've sourced BUT we have transport issues.

Just from the interest I had last night after putting the notice on the board I know we'll have at least 10 people going, most of which have their own transport & have usual travel buddies who go in the box with them bar the odd few. I know there is at least 3 (including myself) who have no transport & no means of towing!

So I'm after for one of several scenarios for us stragglers really . . .

The prefered option - a company or person which has a lorry (that holds the more horses the better) who will pick us up & drop us off on the Friday & collect us Sunday to take home, or failing that even someone who has a 3.5 tonne van or box & trailer that will do the same.

A company who rents 3.5 tonne small vans/boxes that we could drive on a car license & just lease for the weekend - although these all seem to be a million miles away & its alot of hassle collecting it etc.

One woman who also has no transport can tow, but at the moment has no 4x4 which is annoying as I'm sure we could borrow a trailer off someone on the yard who isnt using it, or rent one locally, is there anywhere that hires 4x4's or is that a silly question?

All depends how many come in the end, hoping that some will be "absorbed" into some empty spaces in peoples boxes but want to get some quotes & be prepared so that we have the means for everyone to go, dont want people with no transport being left out!

It would be from Newport/Cwmbran area to Swansea so about 70 miles & will take between an hour and a half and two hours. We would want picking up mid morning/early afternoon on the Friday & collecting late afternoon/early evening Sunday. Obviously the more local the transport the better!

One company I have found through "Yell" & have yet to ring are Dijan Horse Transport based in Cardiff. Does anyone have any feedback on them?

Help! All seemed a good idea at the time but didnt realise how rubbish transport was around here lol.

Many thanks in advance!

Ellie
