Can anyone recommend a good transporter to take a horse to Germany?

I've had quotes from ETA & John Parker, but the prices weren't very reasonable. Some belongings need to be taken with the horse - rugs, a couple of big plastic boxes with belongings inside... they're quoting an extra £500 just to take some belongings!!!

Thanks in advance.

John Parker International in Appledore and ETA in Hougham nr Dover, both of these are based in Kent. Buit gp all over the world.

Thanks for suggesting ones that I've already tried :)) - in my original post! It's the thought that counts though :) those two were both around £1000, which is just too much money. To take some rugs and a couple of boxes with him, they want to charge for an entire extra horse's cost, thereby doubling the price.

Wofford Horse Transport brought a horse over from Germany for me.

Thanks, I will look them up and give a ring.

Editting this post, to say the company dissolved in November 2006, they are no more...

Why dont you look at an alternative for shipping the belongings eg airfreighting them. The space contraint is pretty usual.
