Hmm I only know transporters in Hampshire/W. Sussex I'm afraid. Try yell.com or ask around as my horse transport guy is v old and doesn't advertise yet alone have the net and he is by far the most reliable/cheapest, just relying on word of mouth to get jobs...

Oh oh oh! Have you found somewhere for him to go? is he sold or a loan!! Do tell!!
BTW my friend hired a box from Wentworth horse box hire in Reading a few weeks ago, a fantastic box £100 a day + you put in what ever fuel you use, rear facing. Horse had to go to Gloucstershire from Herts, and travelled really well, may be cheaper option if you can drive, I looked at getting my horse to Herts from Newmarket earlier in the year and was looking at £200+ for a transporter. Got a mate to do it in the end for petrol money.

I have just travelled my horses down from North Yorkshire to Wiltshire with a company called C & C transport, they were very good. I know they are down they down south a lot. They would have charged me £200 for one horse for that distance but as I was travelling 4 they did me a deal.
I still have their number if you want it.

I really do hope that you have found a lovely home for your boy. If it doesn't work out just contact me.
Now as for transport, I have a 2 horse 3.5 tonne rear facing that we hire out for self drive hire. If you think this might be helpful just give me a PM. We can arrange to meet you somewhere with it for a small charge.
