Horse transport.

Hi, we are looking at moving from Berkshire to Shropshire in the next 6 months and I would need transport for my horse. Can anyone recommend a good reliable company where my mares needs would come first? Or who to avoid. She loads well but can be a little nervous when travelling and sweats up so as you can imagine I'd want the 3 hour journey to be as comfortable as possible for her. TIA

In the first place, welcome to Shropshire in advance! Which part are you coming to?

From personal experience, I would use Eric Gillie - I've moved horses from the Scottish Highlands down to Gloucestershire and couldn't fault them.

Telford area. I have heard of Eric Gillie but thought they did long distance. Would they do my journey?

Yes - I got a quote from them to bring a horse from Blackpool to Shrewsbury only a couple of months ago. (£200 btw on a shared load)

Gillies are excellent. Brought a horse up from Essex for me, 2 overnight stops on the way. Came off the lorry chilled as anything, very well looked after.

Another vote for Gillies - they do cover the country, but do shared loads from A to C as well
Never been able to fault them
You may need to fit in to their scheduling so it helps to be a little flexible on your timings.
