Horse Transporters in EDINBURGH

Hey does anyone know of any transporters in the Edinburgh area. I don't have my own box or trailer and its becoming a major problem as both my horses need specialist farriery so I really need transport every 7 weeks if at all possible. I have no where to garage or leave a trailer otherwise I would buy one.

elite horse box hire, hire out lorries however they are rather expensive but then again you wont find much cheaper if you have to travel two horses, with a transporter, only thing is with elite horse box, you have to drive the lorry yourself but then i think its only a 3.5 tonne box anyway. Andy may drive it for you if you ask him nicely lol

What about Ghillies, I know they are near Kelso but they may have regular trips around you.

I used a guy called Robin, he advertised at Horse and Outdoors at McMerry.

He transported my boy from just outside Edinburgh to Kelso to take part in a driving demonstration, charged about 7pounds an hour for his time. And he was even early.

just thought of someone else, are they called tugrugs or something like that one of the liveries at the yard uses them to go to endurance comps not totally sure of the name though sorry im not much help lol

Tried those Tug transporters several times - they don't reply to either e mail, voice mail or text which doesn't bode well for a business

Have you thought about seeing if there are any local caravan storage places you could ask if you could keep your trailer there? We only pay £200 a year to keep our box on one, so should be less than that if its a trailer.

So might work out cheaper and more flexible than paying for transport.
