Anyone know of any decently priced (but reputable) horse transporters in the Buckinghamshire / northants / leicestershire area?

I need a horse transporting from Bucks to leics / northants border, the cheapest quote i can find is approx 100 pounds.

Yes, that is a pretty good price. Is it a shared load, as if not, you may get a cheaper one.

TBH that is mnore than fair price albeit a bit too cheap!!!

At the end of the day transporters have to have their vehicle inspected by VOSA every 4-6 weeks (see last weeks HH) and these cost!!!

Look on www.findhorsetransport.com for more transporters but I would expect to pay from 100 for a bread van to turn up and up to 200 for a hgv transporter.

good luck

most registered transporters charge between £1.45 and £1.65 per mile...so that is VERY reasonable.

double check if they have an Operators Licence...national transporters will have a blue disc displayed in the weedscreen, near the tax disc..if its not there, which legally it should be, then ask to see it.....

you can also check out their number on the VOSA website to check if they are legal.
