This brings back so many bad memories for me.

I lost my mare in the same way. It was during the snow and she was well rugged so had no chance with the wet rugs weighing her down Vet says she more than likely had a heart attack when the ice cracked and she hit the ice cold water.

Still haunts me to this day and i miss her so much

Poor old horse.

Whilst appreciating its easy to be critical of someone else's management: it says in the article that he's been stuck in water before as he fell into a canal once.

Also, the land he's kept on has got loads of ragwort growing on it which you can see in one of the pictures when he's being pulled out onto dry land.

Makes you think WTF is the owner doing? (unless the owner(s) are P!k-ez of course??? Makes you wonder.
