horse tricks...

My two have a few useful tricks..

One of them can open and close the menage gate on his own so I can just sit there. He can also undo the lorry partition and his stable door which isn't very useful!

The other will 'smile' on command :), and he will pass you his feed bucket, brushes etc if you point at them..but only if he knows you have treats!

Both of them will pick up whichever foot you point at..even at a bit of a distance! Taught them this as my mum has a bad back, and she can now pick out the feet etc with out any effort.

Izzy I want to know too!
I really want to teach my mare some tricks too (she does beg for food) so we can play when there isnt time to ride. Would be nice to know the correct way to teach a horse to bow, or kneel or rear (safely).

I taught my dog to shut the living room door. It's incredibly useful...

my highland does feet, strikes, lifts, bows, kneels, rears, smiles, etc on command. he really enjoys training. There may well be photos on another thread. Oh bugger ok

When I get my own horse, I hope to teach it some some tricks ^^

I bought a clicker, so I'm going to try and get Ned to lift his hooves on command and come to me :)
