Hi there, so some back story. On the days I’m working my horse goes out at 8am. I will then come to the yard and bring him in at 1 to ride and then he will be put in his stable for the night at around 2, half 2. I have moved to a new yard for the past few months and he has been fine and happy with this routine as he enjoys being in and always has plenty of food. Recently when I have been trying to bring him in, he will let me catch him, but when I try to encourage him to follow me and go forwards he sticks his ears back, threatens to bite me and then kind of runs infront of me in a circle slightly trying to kick me. This is Very!!! Out of character of him. He is normally a very chilled horse never kicks bites or anything. I have realised maybe he is wanting to stay out longer? I am happy for him to go out in the field over night if this is what he needs but I still want to be able to bring him in the day to be able to ride. Any advice on this would be massively appreciated.

As such a dramatic change in behaviour that sounds like it could be dangerous I'd probably get a vet involved, my first thought is ulcers as this is how my horse presented, getting her in from the field was horrific in a similar way

Sorry feel like I missed this part out, is the only thing is when other horses are being brought in, as the yard is also a fully livery so everyone comes in at 2pm, he will happily follow the others being brought it in, when I am leading him. That is why I’m questioning if it is ulcers or not.
