When I go to tack up my horse she turns her butt to me. I come towards her with the tack enter the feeding bay and as soon as I pick up the saddle pad she turns away. Once she turns away she's fine and just stands???

My boy started doing it when his back was sore after a field injury. I also suggest getting the vet/chiro out.

It could be a learned behaviour and not anything to worry about - but previous posters are right. Get tack, back and teeth checked to rule out pain.

As above , horses sometimes have a habit of doing this but if one of mine did I would know something was making the horse not enjoy it's work and I would be on the hunt for the reason .
Years ago when I was working I looked after a lovely horse who had to be put in a roller gag for his owner to hunt him he used to turn and hide his head when he saw the bit on his bridle , it was so sad .

I had that with our lovely cob many years ago. We hadn't had him long and a "friend" who was into a particular and rather expensive horsemanship method suggested she try it on him. He did have a habit of towing his then 7 year old rider about on the lead rein - most cobs do until they learn they can't get away with it. Anyway - I had never seen anything more vicious and neither had poor cob. Still - years later - he will cower away from that particular type of rope halter. Needless to say the friendship did not last long. Thankfully cob forgave us!

But the point is good OP. She may have learned this but it will in all probability have its roots in a poor experience somewhere. You need to get her checked to eliminate pain - especially if she is the same one who you posted about tripping all the time.
