If anyone remembers my post from the other day re:horse with dodgy eye (all better now by the way) shes in the wars again. Found a lump under her cheek today, no sign of injury so dont think its a kick, eating and drinking normally, gums healthy pink, capillary refill normal, temp normal, going to toilet, no nasal discharge at all, etc... she's been on antibiotics and bute for the last week anyway because of her eye. Debating whether to call vet or not? What would you do? Absolutely fine in herself, playing around tormenting others in field as usual. Just a bit worried about the lump. Its solid, not fluid like and not particularly sore to touch which, seeing as shes a drama queen, means it can't be hurting. Any lumps in that area and I instantly think strangles, but shows no other signs at all. Am I paranoid or rightly worried????

Since the rain finally stopped, we've had quite a cold wind. All of ours, this morning, had hamster cheeks. I've always thought it to be cold faces!
That is, assuming, there aren't any symptoms of anything else (there isn't in ours). It's a similar swelling that appears in Spring as the grass comes through.
