Horse value and vetting certs

Does anyone know what the cut of point is for a 3 stage vetting....I think it used to be around 5k but I may be way off.

I paid more for mine and didnt need a Vet Cert, I am with NFU and have LOU cover and Vets Bills.

I know that most insurers won't insure a horse for over £5k without xrays but never heard anything on the vetting side.

Think my insurance told me that they will insure anything up to £5,000 without a vets certificate, anything over that will need one but they didn't say what stage. I'm with NFU.

Dont know if thats any to you help though

Mine was £3k, ask your insurance company, I thnk they are al different

Im with NFU and my last 2 horses cost £5k plus and both needed vetting certificates for the insurance. For my young horse I also had to give evidence that the Vet had done Xrays and that he was happy with the results (I think its automatic for anything over £10k).

one of ours is with Petplan and they'll insure upto £2,500 without a vet cert. I always thought NFU was £3k?
