I was just posting a reply about vettings and it got me wondering why the price for a 5 stage vetting should vary so much.I know there will be fluctuations from county to county, but I had 2 done recently and there was over £85 difference, the distance to do the vettings was greater in the cheaper one.
I was present at both and both followed the same format, has anybody else found this ?

I paid in the first case £257.46, the second was £181.25, I just think its a big difference for in theory the same service, obviously taking account of travelling distance.

I paid just over £300 for a 5 stage vetting. It was with the head of the practise though and he came highly recommended. He also rode the horse himself (as well as saw it ridden) which a lot of vets don't do.

only one of the horses were ridden by the vet and the vetting took approx 2 1/2 hours, I will admit that the cheaper vetting he wasn't on for long walked, trotted, and cantered 20 m circles and popped off.
