Just in case anyone was in any doubt what capped hocks were, have a look at this vid, 5yo I went to see yesterday by Poor Boy (always liked that horse when he was competing, so was quite keen to see an offspring). The hocks are really quite amazing!

And seeing as I was uploading a vid anyway I did one of a very short clip of W's dressage lesson last week, did a little report, this just shows the difference when I'm asking for the half-pass/travers her way - that's when he crosses properly!

Um, he wasn't really my type, rather oaf-like, without the hocks he's the sort I'd be prepared to take a punt on as a swift project, but a horse for me so to say. Don't know if you can see when I lead him up he's not particularly forward thinking, was v reluctant to go to the gate leaving their property.

Another 'wow' at the hocks

Couldn't you have made the terrier chase him, to help you trot him up

or get someone to throw a rock at it!

Interesting about opening that hand, as although i've never been told how to ride half-pass, i found myself doing that anyway, to kinda keep him straight!?

Poor chap with those hocks and is the video tall as he seems to have very little bone and very long legs but then so did the other horses in the video , maybe the type of video I 'd like to be seen in.

Haha carthorse, and there was me thinking my legs were looking quite good for once! He wasn't light of bone, he'd got legs like tree trunks! So sadly we must conclude it's the video

.

Finn, yes she is VERY enthusiastic, certainly get my money's worth of talking!

Wow at those hocks!! Poor thing, looks very stiff and arthritic anyway apart from the cosmetic appearance. Also didn't like the way it wasnt very keen to move forwards!

William looks super
