New to this forum but my friend has suggested that i should put a post on to see if any of you can give me some sound advice. I am looking for a horse to suit myself i have 1500 to 2000 pound to spend i know this will not buy me a brilliant horse but all i am looking for is a quiet hack. I have looked at four already from private homes and they have not been suitable for various reasons so i wondered if anyone can recommend a dealer with a good reputation. I thought if i found a good dealer they might be able to show me a couple of horses rather then me travelling all over the place!! I live in Lewes right by the downs so i need to find a horse that is not only a safe hack but is 100% when out on the downs. If any of you can give me some advice it would be most welcomed. thanks in advance.

Can't help on the dealer front (wrong part of the country!) but don't get disheartened - 4 really isn't many. I went to see 14 before finding Kalli. I also arranged to see another 6 but they sold before I got there.

I think a very good place to start would be your local riding schools/riding clubs. Many horses are found by word of mouth and, if you keep asking, there is a strong chance that someone at one of these places may know of a horse.

I am looking for a horse thats around 15.2 that is not a plod, I dont mind it being forward going as long as it does not get to silly in open spaces! I would prefer a gelding and not fussy about age as long as its not a pensioner!!!!
