All the bl**dy time. And mine have a habit of swishing past their nets when they get in, so have to have their rugs undone on the yard and swiftly removed as they get in the box.
I'm plotting a flexible 'sleeve' of some sort that can easily be pushed over the T piece, inner tube is OH's suggestion, I wondered about a small Tubigrip cut to length.
We won't even mention the Amigo fly rug that my then yearling hooked into the stud mesh fence and ruined, it was all of 48 hours old.
Nope. Never had a problem, ever! I've got two lightweights and the sweet itch hoody and none have caught in anything! You lot all have accident prone horses!
I use Horseware rugs and some have the T fastening and some have clip fastenings.
I don't like T fastenings at the front of rugs because they get caught in haynets. My horse ripped a fleece to shreds after the T got caught in his haynet. The T clasp and half the rug were still attached to the haynet in the morning.
I always do the clip fastenings up so that the opening inside/horse side not the outside. I hope that makes sense!
I don't have that problem but find they do come undone easily and have more than once found Fab stood naked with his rug on the floor! I don't tend to buy them now as didn't think the quality was great for the money either and tend to stick to Premier Equine.
They can surely only get stuck if they are leaning over the fence. A electric perimeter would prevent this, save the fencing and the rugs. As for hay nets they must be really low?!
I have one horse that's never got caught up and one who does it every time without fail, she rubs on the net and gets hooked, must depend on the horse.
Great idea about the sleeve to cover it!
