Horse went bonkers yesterday, anyone else's horse playing up?

My daughter is so happy to read this post and realise she is not the only one, pony has been a bit naughty recently. Yesterdays trick was to throw his toys out of pram and threaten to rear at road junction whilst waiting to cross. Well he got his way, everything stopped for him. Naughty Boy. I think it must be because it is so mild and grass is still growing.

glad someone else is having problems. yesterday my 20 year old leapt out of her stable with her tack on, jumped the mounting block and raced to the field. i went a got her and as i got on she cantered off again with me hanging on. luckily she didnt bronc so i managed to get on. i then had a very interesting ride, but unfortunately no one has told her she is recovering from lameness and is supposed to be walking only!!!!!! she was better today but still a bit lively... must be something in the air, it certainly isnt the tiny amount she is being fed....

Yep our entire yard seems to have flipped out.
Saturday Hovis went so nutty in the field he yanked his shoes off and my 6ft built-like-a-brick-outhouse husband could barely hold him to bring him in.
The YOs horse went mental on the lunge on friday and then gave her the worst dressage test of her life on saturday out competing.
The rest are on "their toes" to say the least!

Took the highland out for a hack at the weekend....normally he is of the opinion that energy must be conserved at all costs, build for comfort and not speed- you know the type......however he was really on his toes, had a fab full blast ( for him) gallop complete with spooky swerve:D

Took one look at t'arab throwing a few shapes around the field and thought no.....I'll leave you be:rolleyes:

I am rather pleased it wasnt just me who had a tuff ride on Saturday.

I went on a hack on my share and as we began to canter, that was it, she was off in an almighty gallop which i couldnt stop and for a moment my life flashed before my eyes!! never been so frightened, i have only just started riding again in the last few months from a horrid accident a few years ago which i was lucky to walk away from, hence to why i was so panicked, got off as soon as i could and had to lead miles home.

Horses ay... still got to love them! :p

I noticed at the weekend there is a LOT of very green grass coming through for this time of year, which maybe has something to do with it.

Hate to break it to you all but my horse has been an angel!
I haven't ridden her since September, around 10 weeks. Hopped back on and she was a gem, didn't even spook :D

Thanks for all the replies, there must be something in the air.

Well took him in the school again yesterday, all ready to argue with him and nothing! Perfect gentleman! Did some lovely transitions, especially trot/canter and worked hard. Completely different horse!

He is getting to old for throwing himself around like a loony but he wasn't stiff at all and he must have been broncing/ cat leaping/ rearing for around 5 minutes. But yesterday perfect, unpredictable old g*t.
