So i have had my horse for a year now ( I had to buy him because he was so skinny) and after an injury last winter we have done lots of hacking to get his fitness back and for me to suss him out we can start training again. He is ridiculously spooky on hacks and rushes off when galloping.
So I found out who bred him and asked some questions as he seemed quite babyish for his age (17). Turns out he's hunted once and the lady who bred him owned him for 12 years before selling him on and she didn't ride him much at all after she broke him in.
I think he's got the ability to be a good hunter and has the build for working hunter classes etc which is what I want to do with him. But where do I start ? He's had no proper schooling ever but jumps brilliantly, i have only just managed to get him working in an outline for a bit too! Do I try to being to school him properly and teach him ? I would like to as it will help with control out hunting etc, but have no clue wether I can train him as I do with my youngsters !
