my horse had a bad back after had been work wrongly in drawreins for a long time. we dont use them anymore. he had 2 massages, during the last 2 weeks and will have it again next week..but the thing is that he will not go into trot.. feels like he is in pain.. I had his teeth and saddle checked..could it be because he is sore..what to do ?

Do you mean wont trot whilst ridden or wont trot even in field?
2 massages are unlikely to sort his back out straight away, I had a horse with a bad back after using a badly fitted saddle and physio came worked on her then advised I lunged her for 2 weeks long and low to help strenghten the muscles.

he seems to be fine on the lunge..doing that with no sidereins, for him to find his own balance..and he goes down lond and low.

its when I am on him...he has changes his way of behaiving after I had the massages..in walk he is almost okay, but when I want to trot him, he resist..put his head up very high, and is not happy..so I did not trot him last week at all..he is going to have another massage next week..but as I said he seems to be fine on the lunge, its only when i get on him.. maybe I should just leave him for few weeks and lunge him..
