Horse with amputated tail

Hey,

I have a horse on loan who has an amputated tail which she lose when she was much younger. I have just started to take her out doing dressage tests but the on the 2nd time, she rubbed her tail so bad that I had to call a vet out.

Her owner has said that she does not travel with a tail bandage.....there is not much of her tail left for a bandage to stay on. I have travelled her 3 times now and she travelled alot when she competed so travelling is not a new thing for her.

I have looked on the internet for some device that I could use but have not come across anything.

Basically I am after some help and was wondering if any of you have come across this before, know what I can do to prevent this from happening again (it could have been a one off) or know of any website sites for horses like mine?
 
Could you cut a tail bandage shorter then bandage the tail?
Or put on a rug with a tail flap.

Sorry not much help I knew a horse that had an amputated tail but he never rubbed it travelling.
 
I havent come across a horse with an amputated tail but sounds likes shes sitting on her bum whilst travelling. My friends horse does this and she did use a tail bandage and he ended up with awful friction burns from the fabric of the bandage rubbing whilst he probably had most of his weight against it and the wagon side. She then used a padded tail guard and he was fine.
Could you either pad the side of your wagon where she leans or use a tail guard attached to a surcingle to help keep it on?
