In all my many years with horses, this is the first time I have had an animal with eczema [NOT sweet itch, as the problem continues all year round]
The horse is question is a 3yr old blanket spot appaloosa x french trotter [I live in France] and with the very kind and generous help from the equine dermatologist at the Animal Health Trust, we arrived at the conclusion that this was herediatary, and he recommended intra dermal testing.
Anyone who has ever lived here will realise that trying to get someone to do this effectively is not easy!!
The only two products which have had any impact so far, are capsules of mares milk, and the latest try from the long suffering equine advisor at Ainsworths homeopathic pharmacy in London who suggested "Skookum Chuck Aqua".
Any other suggestions would be very gratefully received. [The problem commenced at 18 months, with ongoing treatments ever since!
