My mare didn't want to eat her breakfast this morning, which is very unusual for her, she also wasn't savvy in getting out of her fieldmates way etc., so I brought her in and called the vet. she was shivering, so I put an extra rug on.
Vet came out and examined her and her temperature was up, found nothing else abnormal, but took bloods just in case and gave her antibiotics and bute, just in case.
She normally lives out 24/7 with a big bale of hay. Shes in a medium weight rug and is arab. generally shes a hot horse gets too warm if I put a heavyweight on her, do you think she has caught a chill as it was so cold last night? Any other ideas?
Shes picking at her food now, but not eating properly.
Thanks
