I was cleaning poopy stains off my mare yesterday when i noticed a scaly/scabby yellow-ness just to the inside of her elbow. Its about the size of a 50p coin but there is no cuts!! She is pink skinned and the skin looks a bit redder than normal under the yellow scaly stuff. Its also on the same place on her other elbow but the skins a blacky colour on than one and doesnt seem as bad as the white one (shes coloured) Its not noticeable unless you soak it and ruffle it about. Its no were else on her, and im stumped as to how it got there 
It doesnt seem to be bothering her, but does anyone know what it is or what may have caused it? Im treating it twice a day with antiseptic wash (since yesterday) and it doesnt seem as red.
